How do I get started?

Dr. Horton must approve your participation.  Call the office at 847.296.3877 to schedule the initial evaluation, and blood work (if required).

 

Do I have to buy special food, or go to special grocery stores?

Local grocery stores and produce markets will have everything you need.  Most people find they spend less on food since they no longer eat processed foods.

 

Do I have to exercise at Dr. Horton’s office or buy special equipment?

Work out wherever you want!  Many patients have a gym membership that they do not use, or equipment that is sitting idle at home.  Dr. Horton will help you leverage what you have by personalizing your exercise program.

 

How long is the program?

The Live Well Metabolic Makeover is 12 weeks.  New participants begin the first Monday of every month.

 

Does Horton Wellness & Chiropractic recommend supplements?

Sometimes people need extra help in the form of whole food, natural supplements.  We use Standard Process supplements in our office.

 

Is there a detox portion to the program?

We use the Standard Process Purification Program for many patients to give their body the resources needed so that they can purify and rebuild naturally. 

 

Do I need special kitchen equipment?

You will need a blender.

 

What about Acupuncture?

We use “no-needle” electro-acupuncture in the office.  It is faster and more comfortable than traditional needle acupuncture.  Acupressure is also used.  Dr. Horton stimulates acupuncture points that help break food addictions and increase metabolism.

 

How much is the Live Well Metabolic Makeover?

The program is $500.  This covers supplements for Phase I, the book for Phase II, the required seminars, as well as all of the acupuncture treatments. 

 

Does my insurance cover The Live Well Program?

Most insurance plans cover the initial evaluation that Dr. Horton requires.  The cost of the Live Well Metabolic Makeover is an allowable expense for people with FSAs (Flex Spend Accounts), HSAs (Health Savings Accounts) and other IRS tax-favored health plans. 

 

Will you work with my medical doctor?

Absolutely. We love to communicate with your medical team so that you get the best and most appropriate care.  With your written permission, we will keep your other doctors informed of all we do.
